Police continue to make arrests at Ferguson protest.
notice how these retweets and favorites have gotten smaller in numbers….why are people paying less attention.?
"Unlawful assembly?" The only thing "unlawful" about any of this is the unnecessary brutality against innocent civilians who want nothing but peace and justice for their people.
American people are given the right to peaceful assembly, which is what is happening here. That right is being denied and it is being denied on the sole issue of the color of their skin. The United States is not even close to being post-racial; we live in a country where the KKK can assemble freely in public without any harassment from law enforcement but whenever a group of black people unite in the streets they are seen as a threat because they have been painted as murderers, rapists, and thugs by the media for decades. Centuries, even.
The police and the government are afraid. They are afraid because they know that their system of oppression is being fought and they know that they can’t hide their actions much longer. They are afraid because they are wrong. They are wrong and they know it and they are trying to silence as many people as they can so that they may live in denial for just a little bit longer. So that they can be on top for just a little bit longer.
They’re losing their footing, we all just need to keep going strong. Keep talking, keep tweeting, keep educating people, because this is so far from over. This is the beginning of a revolution. This is the beginning of change. We are getting closer and closer to a tipping point every day, guys. We just can’t let these things go quiet anymore. We let Trayvon Martin go quiet. We can’t keep letting it happen.
